River levels are forecast to rise on the Middlesbrough Becks, as a result of heavy, thundery rainfall on Thursday morning. Forecast levels suggest that there may be flooding to riverside footpaths and low-lying land and roads close to the river from 04:00 AM, Thursday 1st August.
There is low confidence in the exact location and distribution of the heaviest showers but where they do fall there will be a particular risk of surface water impacts in urban areas and the potential for a fluvial response in rapidly responding catchments
We do not expect to issue any flood warnings, however river levels could remain high during Thursday morning.
Our incident response staff have been out clearing debris screens and we will continue to monitor the situation.

Rainfall is expected to become lighter and more showery during late Sunday morning 14/07/24.
